The snow has a wonderful way of making the familiar unfamiliar, and I took time out on all three days during the recent cold snap to get out and about.

On the first day I didn’t get far, but the early morning sunlight was a fabulous colour and I managed a couple of worthwhile shots.

The second day saw me out on Primrose Hill and the third on the Heath at the Iron Pan Ponds and the Vale of Health.  It started snowing heavily on my way back down the hill – though it would have been better if it had been whilst I was on the Heath – and I darted into the graveyard of St John’s, Church Row to may the most of the falling flakes.

It is surprising how difficult it is to take photographs of the snow, and frustrating how little time one has to practice in.
