I made my way up to Great Titchfield Street today to see an exhibition of work from the 50’s and 60’s by Franziska Themerson, the aunt of my friend Jasia Reichardt.
I was caught in an absolute deluge of a storm, huddled under an awning the size of a postage stamp, but with my camera to hand, so I took advantage of the ‘weatherproof’ design (it isn’t btw) to try to capture a bit of the drama.
It was my Lumix GH4 with a 35-100mm(70-200) lens (one of my best) and I and utilised a longer than usual shutter speed to catch the action. I don’t usually take this type of picture, but the serendipitous nature of the blurred shooting was quite pleasing. I’ve included one photo pinched in the gallery, and a picture of a bus that I took late one evening a couple of weeks ago, just to flesh it out. The gallery and the bus have had a bit of an ‘artistic’ treatment. Anyway, I think I should work on the ‘street photographer’ thing; it doesn’t really suit my temperament, but it is worth pursuing…
