I found myself out this morning in well worn territory, and the baking heat, giving a photography lesson to a friend who wanted to get more familiar with the Nikon DSLR that she’d had for a while, but hadn’t made any real headway with.  Starting at the Hill pergola, we wandered back down towards South End Green the scenic route.

I didn’t take nearly as many photos as I would have done on my own, but am quite pleased with one or two of the results – I’ve been hoping to get a dragonfly for months. The main thing is that my pupil quickly grew in confidence using Aperture Priority Mode and Exposure Compensation as the primary tools to make more creative shots. I haven’t seen her results, except on the back of the camera, but it looked like she had both a flair, and an eye.

I’ve padded the post out with one or two unpublished snaps of my own, also from the Heath, taken earlier in the summer…
